More than 250 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire in latest update

Another 252 cases of coronavirus were recorded across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire in the last 24 hours, the latest figures show (December 5).

Public Health England statistics reveal where new positive Covid-19 tests were registered across the area as of Saturday.

It is a fall of almost 100 cases compared to Friday's update, which saw 350 new infections confirmed.

The largest increase in the last 24 hours was in Nottingham, where 96 new coronavirus cases were recorded.

There were 32 new cases in Newark and Sherwood, 30 in Ashfield and 21 in Mansfield.

A further 397 people have died from Covid-19 nationwide, taking the total to 61,014.

In total, 15,539 new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded across the UK in the last 24 hours.

Below are the total number of cases recorded in each borough and district of Nottinghamshire, with the number of new cases in brackets.

Ashfield - 3,662 (increase of 30)

Bassetlaw - 3,427 (increase of 20)

Broxtowe - 3,427 (increase of 20)

Gedling - 3,560 (increase of 14)

Mansfield - 3,027 (increase of 21)

Newark and Sherwood - 3,075 (increase of 32)

Nottingham - 17,328 (increase of 96)

Rushcliffe - 3,388 (increase of 19)

Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies for deaths where Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificate, together with additional data on deaths that have occurred in recent days, show there have now been 74,000 deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK.
