More than 24,000 people apply for dream cafe job on stunning island off the coast of Co Kerry

An Irish company looking for a couple or two friends to run a cafe and accommodation on an island revealed on Monday they’ve had 24,000 applicants.

The eaterie is located on the stunning remote Great Blasket Island off the coast of Kerry which is the most westerly island in Europe.

The vacancy has attracted interest from all over the world.

Punters who are hopeful to fill the Co Kerry role will also have their accommodation and food provided.

However prospective workers have been warned that there is no wifi, no electricity and no hot water.

The pair who manage to bag job will be tasked with running the cafe and island’s accommodation and play host to visitors from April until October.

The ideal candidates must have a good level of fitness, good people skills and be friendly, approachable and chatty.

Last year couple Lesley Kehoe and Gordon Bond took on the role after they were tired of commuting from Kildare to Dublin everyday for their jobs.
