More than 200 coronavirus patients at Royal Bolton Hospital have been discharged after recovering

At least 208 people have been discharged from Royal Bolton Hospital, after recovering from coronavirus.

The latest figures are true as of last Thursday (April 30), according to the Bolto n NHS Foundation Trust.

A spokesman for the trust said: "The figure as of last Thursday was that we had discharged 208 people.

"Figures here in Bolton and nationally show that of those requiring hospital treatment for Covid-19 around two thirds recover, while a third tragically don’t.

"However, we must stress that it is only a very small percentage of people require hospital treatment after contracting Covid-19.

"We don’t want to people to panic.

"The vast majority only have mild symptoms and some show none at all. Hence the importance of social distancing."

According to NHS England figures, 169 people at Royal Bolton Hospital have died due to Covid-19.

For both of the past two days, no new coronavirus deaths have been reported at the hospital.

However, this does not mean that no Covid-19 patients have died in the last 48 hours.

There can be a delay of up to several days before a death is announced as hospitals have to process the information before notifying NHS England.
