More than 200 cannabis plants found in weed farms across one Liverpool street

More than 224 cannabis plants and equipment have been seized in Liverpool.

Police executed a warrant on Scargreen Avenue, Norris Green, on Thursday, August 26 and found 61 cannabis plants.

Officers then become suspicious of another two addresses on the same street and forced entry into the properties.

Another 67 mature cannabis plants and 96 immature cannabis plants were found in the other premises on Scargreen Avenue.

A white Transit van, thought to be used in the criminal activity, was also seized by officers.

Enquiries are ongoing to locate the occupants.

Sergeant Andy Hall said: "These warrants are a great example of our officers identifying the visible signs of a possible cannabis farm and taking decisive action to take drugs out of circulation, and remove the ability of criminals to profit from them.

"The electricity in both addresses has also been made safe, and the risk to neighbouring properties from the electricity being tampered with has been removed.

"This could have created a very real flood and fire risk for anyone unlucky enough to live nearby.

"It is vital that we find cannabis farms as quickly as possible, because nobody wants to live close to a potential death-trap and it's thanks to people living in the areas affected, and the proactivity of our officers, that we are able to take action.

"We're also keen to speak with anyone who might have seen people coming or going from the addresses on Scargreen Avenue in recent days and weeks.

"Any details of suspicious people or vehicles could prove vital in helping identify those responsible and we will act on all information received."
