More than one million people have recovered from coronavirus worldwide, according to the latest figures from the John Hopkins University.

There have been more than 3,25million reported cases and 233,000 deaths across 184 countries since the virus broke out in Wuhan last year, according to the data.

But now nearly a third of people who contracted Covid-19 may have been given the all-clear as John Hopkins University records 1,015,183 recovered cases.

It comes as some countries ease their social distancing restrictions while Europe shows positive signs of cases plateauing.

The US has seen the most recoveries, with 153,947 after reporting more than one million cases and 60,000 deaths.

Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he would not renew the social distancing guidelines despite the escalating amount of cases and deaths.

Germany follows the US with 123,500 recoveries after reporting 163,009 confirmed cases and 6,623 deaths.

Next is Spain, who have seen 112,050 after 213,435 confirmed cases and 24,543 deaths.

However in the UK, out of 171,481 people testing positive for the virus, only 861 people have recovered from the virus, according to John Hopkins University.

The current death toll in the UK stands at more than 26,700.

It comes as Prime Minister Boris Johnson prepares the UK's exit lockdown strategy, after declaring that the country is "past the peak".

The Prime Minister promised to produce a "road map, a menu of options” next week, explaining how to get get the economy moving and children back to school.
