Essential Energy says 1340 properties in the area, which includes Springrange and Nanima, were affected.

The outage began about 6.15am Monday.

An Essential Energy spokeswoman said crews were at the scene and investigating the cause of the outage, as of 7.45am.

"Attending crews have secure the safety of the site and are currently isolating the damaged section of the network," the spokeswoman said.

"Power will be re-routed around the local electricity network to progressively backfeed supply to as many customers as possible."

Power was restored just before 9am.

No ACT homes have been affected by the power outage.
