The Environment Agency has issued more than 100 flood warnings and flood alerts across the UK today as heavy rain batters the country.
There are currently 93 flood alerts and 41 flood warnings in place and the total has been rising throughout the day.
Flood warnings, which are issued in places flooding is expected, require immediate action, according to the Environment Agency, while flood alerts, where flooding is possible, are put in place to warn residents to be prepared.
The Met Office has issued an amber 'danger to life' weather warning in parts of the north including Greater Manchester and Yorkshire.
If a flood alert is issued in your area it is recommended that you prepare a bag which includes medicines and insurance documents in case you need to leave your house.
If a flood warning is issued you should take action including turning off gas, water and electrics and moving your pets and valuable items to safety.
The Environment Agency also issues severe flood warnings in cases of emergency.
