More than 100 firefighters have been called to battle a huge blaze at a metal plant in Nottingham.

The fire - described as "significant" - broke out on Harrimans Lane at around 7:20pm.

Dramatic pictures from the scene show flames engulfing a building, with smoke filling the night sky.

Nottinghamshire fire and rescue service said: ""Over 100 firefighters continue to tackle a significant metal fire on Harrimans Ln.

"Please stay out of the area and be aware of a large number of vehicles travelling to the incident.

"If you live nearby, keep your windows and doors closed."

Two aerial ladder platforms, a high volume pump, and welfare unit are also in attendance.

Due to large quantities of smoke and strong winds, locals are being told avoid the area and keep windows and doors closed.

According to NottinghamshireLive, it is the third time in a year that firefighters have been called to the same industrial area.
