More than 100 child sex charges levelled over alleged abuse of boy, girl for a year

The man is due to face court again later this month.

A 44-year-old Broome man has been charged with more than 100 child sexual abuse offences, following an investigation by a Kimberley taskforce.

It is alleged the man sexually assaulted a boy and girl, both aged nine at the time of the first offence, between October 2016 and December 2017.

Officers from the Kimberley Joint Response Team searched the man's property and allegedly uncovered electronic storage devices with images of child exploitation material.

He has been charged with a series of offences including:

  • 77 counts of indecently recording a child
  • 14 counts of indecent dealing with a child under 13
  • and nine counts of procuring a child under 13 to do an indecent act

The man is due to face the Broome Magistrates Court on May 14.

Police say more charges are possible, as they continue to analyse the seized storage devices.
