Blaenau Gwent Neighbourhood Sergeant Neil Pigeon said the force took the issue of illegal drugs very seriously.

He added: "Two males - aged 26 and 28 - were arrested and charged with drug offences.

"We would like to thank the local community for their assistance and urge them to continue to report any suspicious activity within their communities."

Community leaders welcomed the news.

Local councillor Jonathan David Millard said: "This is a positive for local residents in Ebbw Vale, and we are always happy to work with the police in what they are doing to look after the area."

Gwent Police said enquiries were ongoing and anyone with information on this incident, or had concerns about drug dealers operating in their area, can call the force on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
