More than 100 cannabis plants seized after Rutherford raid

Police have seized more than 100 cannabis plants during a search warrant at a Rutherford home on Friday.

Port Stephens-Hunter police district's property crime team executed the warrant at a Jason Place home just before 4pm after receiving an anonymous tip.

Once inside, police allege they uncovered a hydroponic set-up that was cultivating 104 cannabis plants.

Officers seized the plants and are continuing their inquiries regarding their ownership.

Port Stephens Hunter Acting Inspector Kristin Marshall said she wanted to thank the Port Stephens-Hunter community for their assistance. She encouraged anyone with information regarding any crime, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
