More than 1,200 properties hit by power cut in Tameside

More than 1,200 homes have been hit by a power cut in Tameside.

The properties affected are in the M34 postcode, which includes Denton, Audenshaw, Hyde and Dukinfield.

Electricity North West said engineers are on route to investigate the problem.

A total of 1,245 properties are affected, a spokesman said.

They said further updates will be issued when more information is available.

In a tweet, Electricity North West said: "We are receiving high call volumes from #M34 #Manchester due to a power cut affecting 1245 properties.

"We have dispatched engineers to investigate and work to restore supplies as soon as we can.

"I'll post a further update once we've arrived and safety checks are complete."

In an update, it was confirmed that power has been restored.
