More students and staff have tested positive for Covid-19 at the University of Nottingham compared to recent figures.
A total of 18 staff members and students (10 students and eight staff) tested positive for the virus on November 2, the highest daily total since October 23 when the University had 25 cases.
However, overall figures at the University continue on a downward trend with only 117 active cases, seven less than yesterday.
Active cases are defined as staff and students who are still in self-isolation following a positive test result.
A University of Nottingham spokesperson said: "The number of active cases of Covid-19 continues a downward trend, reducing by 92 percent since October, to leave a total of 117 active cases at the University.
"Of this total, there are 97 active cases among students. Active cases among staff remain low at 20 cases."
To deliver fast access to coronavirus testing on campus, two NHS walk-in testing stations are based on University Park Campus and Jubilee Campus. Appointments are bookable online and facilities are open to staff, students and members of the local community.
The University has also developed an in-house testing service specifically designed to tackle asymptomatic transmission and counter the hidden spread of Coivd-19 to keep staff, students and the local community safe.
This week, the University of Nottingham also announced it is looking at how students can safely return home for Christmas - including being tested before they are allowed to leave.
