More snow could fall in Nottinghamshire this weekend

More snow could fall in Nottinghamshire this weekend as colder temperatures hit the county.

Following a few days of milder, more rainy conditions, the Met Office has said light snow could fall on Sunday night (January 31).

Nottinghamshire experienced heavy snowfall fall on Sunday, January 24 with freezing temperatures and weather warnings for ice in place.

This made for difficult conditions for drivers - and those trying to help them.

Giving its prediction for the weekend the Met Office said: "Friday - Mainly dry and bright on Friday morning with sunny spells and a few isolated showers. Turning cloudier in the afternoon with occasional rain and drizzle. Feeling colder later. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

"Outlook for Saturday to Monday: "Cold but generally dry and sunny through the weekend and Monday with widespread overnight frosts.

"There remains the possibility of some light snow on Sunday night."

On Saturday and Sunday, temperatures in Nottingham look set to reach highs of 4C.

There are currently no weather warnings in place for Nottinghamshire as of 7am Thursday January 28.
