The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud orders the extension of the curfew according to the current rates and indicators of the spread of the novel coronvirus until a further notice.

This came in an announcement issued by an official source at theSaudi Ministry of Interior.

"As the Ministry of Interior calls upon everyone to abide by the royal order so as to preserve their health and safety, it affirms at the same time the ongoing of all special precautionary measures that were previously announced in a number of cities, governorates and residential areas, in addition to preventing movement across the 13 regions of the Kingdom," the Saudi Press Agency reported.

On Saturday, Saudi Arabia registered new coronavirus cases and five deaths.

Saudi Health Ministry spokesman Mohammed Abdelali said the newest cases bring the Kingdom’s total to 4,033, including 3,261 active ones and 67 receiving intensive care. The fatalities were mostly in patients who were suffering from chronic health problems.

Thirty-five recoveries were reported, taking the total to 720.

Earlier, more Saudi citizens were repatriated on Saturday after a flight from the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, landed in Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport.

The flight was carrying 219 Saudi nationals.

The first flight evacuating citizens from the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, arrived in Saudi Arabia on Friday with 250 passengers.

The passengers arrived at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry said last week that the repatriation decision comes in line with the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Citizens are subject to a 14-day quarantine upon their return.

King Khalid International Airport, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, and King Fahd International Airport have been prepared to receive Saudis from Jakarta, Washington DC, Kuala Lumpur, Mauritius, Muscat, London, Manila, the Maldives, Colombo and New York.
