More roadworks to begin on major Scottish bridge just weeks after it fully reopened

MORE roadworks are set to be carried out on a major bridge - just weeks after it fully reopened.

The Tay Road Bridge, which carries the A92 road across the Firth of Tay from Newport-on-Tay in Fife to Dundee, is set to have work carried out on it for 10 days starting on October 28.

Barriers which were damaged following a collision are to be replaced with road restrictions planned to take effect.

Work will start at the Fife end of the bridge closing one southbound lane, followed by one lane northbound.

Most of the work will take place off-peak or overnight where possible, Dundee City Council has said.

A reduced speed limit will also be in place during the roadworks.

The closure follows major yearlong roadworks to replace the surface on the bridge which ended on September 10.
