BENGALURU: For the first time in weeks, recoveries overtook new Covid cases in Karnataka on Tuesday. While 53,093 patients recovered from Covid, the state reported 41,400 new cases. Bengaluru accounted for 19,105 of these.
The capital also saw 33,011 people discharged.
With 1. 5 lakh tests conducted in the past 24 hours, the state’s positivity rate on Tuesday stood at 26. 7%. Eight other districts reported more than 1,000 cases, including Kolar (2,185), Tumakuru (2,026), Mandya (1,494), Mysuru (1,494).
Karnataka also reported 52 deaths, the highest in a single day since the third wave hit. Bengaluru accounted for 19 of these deaths.
