SHILLONG: Meghalaya registered 126 recoveries from Covid-19 infection, surging the number of recovered cases to 80799 and 61 new positive cases, which added up to 777 active cases, and three deaths due to the viral disease in the East Khasi Hills district.
The state has so far registered 83014 confirmed Covid-19 cases, as per data furnished by the health and family welfare department.
On the other hand, the number of active Covid-19 cases in the most pandemic-hit East Khasi Hills, which includes state capital Shillong, has further declined to 486 with the district recording 56 more recoveries and 38 new cases on Monday.
New cases detected on Monday also included 13 in West Khasi Hills district, eight in Ri-Bhoi district and two cases in West Jaintia Hills district, as per reports received from the directorate of health services.
The numbers of active Covid-19 cases in the ten other districts of the state have also been on the decline.
