More Premier League games to be shown free-to-air after latest announcement

Thirty-three of the Premier League's remaining games will be shown free-to-air after a broadcast announcement today.

Amazon Prime have been allocated four of 92 outstanding fixtures and will stream those matches for everyone - not just subscribers.

The decision comes on the back of Sky promising to show 25 of their 64 games, free-to-air, including the Merseyside derby on June 20 and the allocation of four to the BBC.

BT Sport are yet to announce if any of the 20 games they have for the remainder of the season will be free-to-air.

Alex Green, MD Prime Video Sport Europe, said: "Like the rest of the country, we are excited to see the Premier League return to action.

“We will be making all four of Amazon Prime Video’s additional fixtures in the 2019/20 season available free of charge; fans will not need a Prime membership to view the games on Prime Video."

The make-up of the broadcast schedule and the fixture list are set to be discussed by the 20 Premier League clubs at a meeting on Thursday morning.

Games are due to re-start on June 17 with Sky Sports confirming the 236th Merseyside derby - on June 20 - will be shown for free.
