More people shocked to find beanless cans of Heinz Baked Beans as scale of scandal emerges

The great Heinz Baked Beans scandal of 2019 runs deeper than first thought, with it now appearing that at least two more people have been confronted with juice-filled tins.

Earlier this week Bristol resident Steve Smith revealed he had opened up a tin of beans only to find a single bean inside, rather than the usual 400 or so.

And after some internet digging it has emerged that the Bristol City councillor's case does not lie in isolation.

At least two other people had previously posted on Twitter claiming that they had picked up tins that were full of juice but low on beans.

Caleb Howe, of Bath, posted a picture of his findings on August 25.

Mr Howe said: "I thought there were no beans in my tin and my suspicions were then confirmed when the sauce dribbled into my sad waiting saucepan. Heinz has sent me a gracious £3 voucher for my troubles."

Meanwhile Twitter user @AdamWalmsley6, from the North West of England, produced his own terrifying evidence.

A Heinz spokesperson said: "Making sure every can of Heinz Beanz is just right is always our top priority.

"We are very sorry for the disappointment over these cans for which we apologise and wish to make up for the missing beans."
