More peace talks over Syria, but can they end the war?

The war in Syria has killed hundreds of thousands of people. Millions have been displaced, and ancient cities have been destroyed. But there appears to be no end in sight.

The heavy bombardment of the northern city of Aleppo by Russian and Syrian forces continues.

Previous talks have ended in disappointment and disagreement.

John Kerry, the US state of secretary, and Sergey Lavrov, Russian foreign minister, are now back at the negotiating table meeting their counterparts from Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar.

Can the regional powers help advance the push for peace?

Presenter: Laura Kyle

Guests:

Rami Khouri - Senior Fellow, Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy, American University of Beirut

Bassma Kodmani - Executive committee member, Syrian National Council

Khaled Batarfi - Assistant Professor, Al Faisal University
