More patients die in Nottingham hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus

More patients in Nottingham's hospitals have died after testing positive for Covid-19.

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust confirmed a further 11 people had died on April 12, bringing the death toll to 113 in the city.

Dr Keith Girling, Medical Director at the trust, said: “Sadly we can confirm that a further 11 patients have died having tested positive for COVID-19.

"Regrettably, that means that 113 Covid-19 positive patients we were caring for have sadly died since the beginning of March.”

“The patients were aged 61 and 99, and died on April 12.”

“The families have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time.”

In north Nottinghamshire, the death toll in hospitals has increased to 61.

The patients died in one of Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust's three hospitals, King's Mill Hospital, Newark Hospital or the Mansfield Community Hospital.
