More parking bays for e-scooters spotted in Nottingham city centre

More parking pays for e-scooters have appeared in Nottingham city centre.

The drop-off point was spotted in Wollaton Street.

Since the trial of the scooters began last year, thousands of people have used them.

When people are using the app - required to hire the scooters - they are able to see designated drop off points on a map.

The city council confirmed before Christmas it planned to make these locations more clear, with physical markings to indicate where the scooters should be left.

Speaking previously, Councillor Adele Williams, the authority's portfolio holder for transport, said: “There are parking zones in the app that are visible to the user, and we chose the dockless scheme because it gives users flexibility.

"But we are planning to mark some scooter bays in the most popular locations so it’s very clear to everyone where they should be parked."

Concerns have been raised about people riding the scooters illegally on pavements, parking them in unsafe locations, and helmets - which are meant to be kept with the scooters - going missing.

It has also been reported that Wind - the company behind the trial - will bring in extra charges for those who leave their scooters where they shouldn’t be.
