More McDonald's drive-thrus reopening today - here's the full list for Notts

Another round of McDonald's restaurants are reopening today - meaning all drive-thrus across Notts are now back to business.

The fast food giant announced it's all stations go at Chilwell and Hucknall.

Drive-thrus in the north of the county are also back up and running.

Big Macs are on the menu at Mansfield Leisure Park, Kings Mill Road East and Priestsic Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, and at Saville Roundabout, Ollerton.

And McDonald's fans in Newark will be lovin' it as the restaurant in Lincoln Road is also reopening today.

Yesterday, June 3, queues formed as Maccy D fans flocked back to restaurants across Notts. At one point police had to block off access to the site off Castle Bridge Road, near Castle Marina.

Notts Police also had to deal with tailbacks at on the A1 at East Markham, Radford Road, Leen Drive and Nuthall Road during the day.

Superintendent Matt Healey said: "We worked with the restaurant staff and our partners at the City Council and Highways Agency to address the disruption and road safety concerns.

"We will be monitoring any disruption again today and working with our partners and the restaurant in order to keep the area safe and traffic flowing."

  • Lincoln Road, Newark
  • Markham Moor, Retford
  • Highgrounds Road, Worksop
  • Station Road, Langley Mill, Derbyshire

A limited menu is on offer for now, so there's no breakfasts or milkshakes.

But all the classics are there including Big Macs, Quarter Pounders, cheeseburgers, Filet-O-Fish and Chicken McNuggets.

Vegetarians have a choice of Veggie Dippers and Vegetable Deluxe.

Fries, Mozzarella Dippers and McFlurry with Oreo, Maltesters and Smarties are also on the menu along with drinks including coffee, tea, fizzy drinks, wate and orange juice.

For the kids there's Happy Meals with hamburgers, cheeseburgers, nuggets and Veggie Dippers.

There are fewer employees in the kitchen to enable staff to social distance and work safely. Perspex screens are up at the payment and collection windows and staff are wearing gloves and masks.

Opening hours are reduced, currently 11am to 10pm, and contactless payment is encouraged, with a maximum £25 spend.

Anyone visiting the drive-thru is urged to browse the menu, order and pay ahead using the My McDonald’s App and they'll start preparing your order when you’re near the restaurant.

A survey by payment provider PaymentSense revealed that McDonald's is the biggest high street restaurant missed by the nation.

More than a third were longing for the return of the Golden Arches, followed by Nando's, Subway, Burger King and Toby Carvery.

Harvester, Five Guys, Frankie and Benny's, TGI Friday's and Wagamama also feature on the list along with Bill's, Yo Sushi and Taco Bell.
