Tui has axed planned trips to a number of Amber and Red list countries amid ongoing concerns about Covid-19.
While a number of holidays have resumed following the lifting of lockdown restrictions, the airline has updated its policies to cancel a number of trips to more high-risk areas, Herts Live reports.
Tui flys to a number of the now-scrapped destinations from Newcastle Airport, including Spain, Greece and Turkey.
A statement on the travel operator's website on Thursday read: "All customers impacted by these cancellations will be contacted directly and will be able to request a full cash refund, or to change to a later date or alternative holiday and receive a booking incentive.
"If we need to cancel any future holidays because of updated Government guidance, we will be in touch directly and aim to give customers at least 7 days’ notice.
"We would like to thank our customers for their understanding at this time."
The destinations affected are:
Up to and including June 13:
Aruba
Croatia
Cyprus
Greece - Crete (Chania), Halkidiki, Kefalonia, Preveza, Samos, Santorini, Skiathos, Thassos, Zante
Italy
Jamaica
Spain – mainland Spain, Formentera, Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca, La Palma
Tanzania
All TUI Lakes & Mountains holidays are also cancelled up to and including June 13
Up to and including June 27:
Bulgaria
Cape Verde
Costa Rica
Dominican Republic
Egypt
Mexico
Morocco
Tunisia
Turkey
However, holidaymakers can still fly to Green destinations including Portugal, as well as some Amber destinations, including Crete (Heraklion), Kos, Rhodes, Corfu, St Lucia, Cuba (Varadero), Antigua, Barbados and Grenada.
