More jersey numbers assigned to new Bears additions

The offseason has signaled the introduction of some new talent via free agency and the NFL Draft. Now, it’s time to find out what numbers they will wear when the 2019 season kicks off.

The Bears have announced some new number assignments for some of its newest additions.

Dynamic return specialist and receiver Cordarelle Patterson will wear No. 84, which isn’t exactly a jersey known for its greats. Patterson has also work No. 84 throughout his previous stints in New England, Oakland and Minnesota.

Chicago’s fourth-round steal Riley Ridley will wear No. 88, which has previously been worn by tight ends Desmond Clark and Greg Olsen. Ridley wore No. 8 at Georgia, and No. 88 appears to pay homage to that.

Kerrith Whyte Jr., the Bears’ promising seventh-round selection, will wear No. 38. The number has previously been donned by safety Danieal Manning.

Previously announced numbers include Ha Ha Clinton-Dix wearing No. 21, Buster Skrine wearing No. 24, Mike Davis wearing No. 25 and David Montgomery wearing No. 32.

The rest of the Bears’ draft class will get their numbers at a later date.
