More CAB intelligence-led raids targeting north Dublin crime gang takes total cash seized to €900,000

The Criminal Assets Bureau have carried out further searches tonight following on from this morning’s raids.

A further €200,000 in cash has been seized - bringing the total seized today to over €900,000.

Tonight’s raids were in the Dublin area.

All the CAB raids today were intelligence led.

A senior source said:”The CAB move was against a serious organised crime group operating in North Dublin area.

“Gardaí were aware of this gang for some time now.

“Major CAB intelligence provided the information to target the gang.

“These raids have resulted in excess of €900,000 cash being seized and has dealt a major blow to this organised crime group.”

Earlier today we reported how seven people were arrested following searches across Dublin and Wicklow.

Raids were carried out on eleven premises across the two counties - including a popular Crumlin takeaway - in an operation targeting money laundering.

Among items seized in the earlier raids were €449,000 in cash, vehicles and high value items with a further €261,000 frozen in bank accounts.
