More illegal job seekers caught in Sai Yok

Myanmar job seekers have their temperatures taken after being caught entering the country illegally in Kanchanaburi's Sai Yok district early on Tuesday.

KANCHANABURI: Fifteen more Myanmar job seekers were arrested for illegal entry in Sai Yok district in the early hours of Tuesday, police reported.

A team of police and administrative officials were sent to a forested area near Thung Mase, or Moo 4 village, in tambon Bong Ti after residents reported seeing a group of strangers hiding there.

The team arrived about 1am and found 10 men and five women. One of the men, identified as Dao Khao, 20, was the guide.

All were checked for fever and all passed.

The border crossers said they were from Dawei and Bago townships. They were to pay 18,000-20,000 baht each to job brokers on arriving at a worksite in Bangkok.

They were handed over to Sai Yok police for legal proceedings, pending deportation.
