Further deaths in hospitals in our region have provided a reminder of the remaining dangers of the coronavirus.
On many occasions this month, the NHS England updates have recorded zero further Covid-19 fatalities at hospitals in our region.
Sadly today that hopeful run of results has come to an end.
A further death of a covid-19 patient has been registered at the St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust.
The Trust, which covers hospitals in Knowsley and Whiston, now has a total of 209 virus deaths.
In the wider region, another death of a covid patient has also been registered at the Trust covering Halton and Warrington - which now has a total of 137.
No further deaths have been recorded at any other Trusts covering our region.

Across England, the NHS said that a further 13 people, aged between 52 and 92 years old, have died after testing positive for the virus.
All had known underlying health conditions.
