More hope for September heatwave with 27C sunshine forecast in Nottingham

New hopes for a blast of September heat and sunshine have been given by the Met Office with a welcoming forecast.

Temperatures are expected, by the Met Office, to rise from Sunday September 5 after a relatively mild start to the month which has seen plenty switching their heating on.

Highs of 27C are forecast in Nottingham on Wednesday September 8 with bright sunshine throughout the day.

On Tuesday September 7, highs of 26C are expected with sunshine again during most of the day.

On Thursday, September 9, temperatures reaching 24C are expected, with the spell of fine weather will lasting through the week.

Here's the Met Office outlook for the next few days:

Saturday:

Largely cloudy but dry at through much of Saturday morning. Staying dry into the afternoon, with cloud thinning in places giving some brighter spells. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Dry again Sunday, with variable cloud and some sunny spells. A bright morning Monday, but cloudier with outbreaks of rain possible in the afternoon. Fine with warm sunny spells Tuesday.
