More headaches for drivers as road resurfacing works set to start

Shotts motorists will have to contend with more than a week of road closures on two of its busiest streets.

Benhar Road and Station Road will have temporary restrictions starting from Saturday to allow carriage resurfacing works to be carried out.

Benhar Road will be closed from the extended north kerbline of Station Road northwards to High Street while Station Road will be closed to the extended kerbline at Foundry Road.

A council spokesperson said: “Benhar Road will be closed from Saturday, July 20, for approximately three days.

“Upon completion of this Station Road will be closed for approximately four days. Works are anticipated to be complete by Sunday, July 28.

“Vehicle access to adjacent roads will be maintained, where possible, by arrangement with the contractor during each closure.

“Pedestrian access will be permitted at all times.”
