'More goalkeepers than strikers' - Bristol City fans react to double signing

Bristol City fans have been reacted to their double signing this afternoon.

The Robins announced the signings of Rene Gilmartin from Colchester United and Tommy Rowe from Doncaster Rovers, both on free transfers.

Whilst some Robins fans questioned the need for another goalkeeper in the form of Gilmartin, they were pleased to see the club continuing their recent transfer activity.

Josh Cullen of Charlton Athletic takes on Tommy Rowe of Doncaster Rovers (Robbie Stephenson/JMP)

Tony: Rowe is a good signing, versatile and experience in a young squad! Welcome to BS3, Tommy!

Gary Bartlett: Seems like a pointless signing to be honest. Guess he will sit in the reserves in case of injuries.

Tom: Four keepers?!

Jambo: Got more goalkeepers than strikers ain't we?

Class of '15: O'Leary will get a loan to a club where he can be no.1 and Maenpaa and Bentley will fight for no.1 spot here. Gilmartin will coach the kids and cover if needed.

John Stokes: O’Leary needs to go out and get games so Gilmartin will cover if either keeper gets an injury rather than having a young inexperienced keeper on the bench. Makes sense!

Dave Riches: Bit concerning seeing we’ve got him from a team two leagues below us and their fans seem delighted.

James Cox: Gilmartin will ultimately allow Max to spend the season on loan which will be great for his development. I really like Rowe, so versatile and will come in very handy in that packed Christmas/New Year period. Some shrewd business there.
