More fraud charges will likely soon be laid against the former director of a Canberra childcare centre, a court has heard.
Emma Morton, 47, has already pleaded not guilty to 49 counts of obtaining property by deception after allegedly defrauding the Weston Creek Children's Centre of more than $330,000.
At the time of her arrest in February, however, police said they suspected more than $480,000 had been misappropriated from the not-for-profit and investigations would continue.
On Thursday morning, prosecutor Michael Gemmell told the ACT Magistrates Court further charges were now set to be laid in relation to transactions made using a credit card.
During a brief mention of the case, Special Magistrate Jane Campbell also amended Ms Morton's bail conditions to reflect a change of address and to remove requirements that the woman periodically report to police.
According to court documents, Ms Morton ran the childcare centre for about 22 years.
She is alleged to have stolen from its coffers through various means, including making illegitimate bank transfers to her own accounts and processing personal purchases like a $3000 sofa using the not-for-profit's money.
The 47-year-old is due to return to court on August 2.
