More flooding could hit Nottingham and Nottinghamshire as Met Office issues 18-hour rain warning

If you have any outdoor plans this weekend, you might need to re-think them.

Heavy rain is set to hit the county on Sunday (October 6) and flooding could become a problem.

Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, as well as most of the east of England.

The warning is in place for 18 hours on Sunday from midnight until 6pm.

What should I expect? 

Heavy rain is expected and Met Office has warned that flooding is a potential risk. 

Spray and flooding on the roads may cause disruption to public transport as well as longer car journey times.

Met Office says flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely. 

Weekend forecast 

Saturday (October 5) is set to be mostly dry.

Met Office predicts it will be cloudy for most of the day with highs of 15C and lows of 11C.  

From 10pm onwards,  there is a 60 per cent chance of rain, which turns into a 90 per cent chance at 11pm.

On Sunday, there is above a 95 per cent chance of rain during the early hours of the morning until 1pm.

It will become drier and brighter from 4pm for the rest of the evening.
