Authorities are investigating remains that washed up at a South Coast beach, north of where missing Sydney's businesswoman Melissa Caddick's foot was discovered.

NSW Police said a member of the public found the remains at Warrain Beach, Culburra, on Sunday morning.

It is the third set to wash ashore in the region in as many days.

It follows police confirmation last week that a "badly decomposed foot" matching Ms Caddick's DNA was found at Bournda Beach, near Tathra on February 21.

"All remains will undergo forensic examination to determine if they are human or animal," NSW Police said.

"If a member of the public locates remains, they are urged to leave the item in situ and contact local police in the first instance."

The latest discovery comes just a day after police were called to Cunjurong Point, near Lake Conjola, after a remains were found by a member of the public.

Police and SES crews searched the shoreline around Mollymook at the weekend.(

Remains were also found on Friday night at Mollymook Beach, where police and SES personnel continued to scour the coastline on Saturday.

That same day, two bones were found on Tura Beach but police have now confirmed the bones were from an animal.

Ms Caddick, 49, and her financial services company had been under investigation by the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC).

She had been missing since she left her Dover Heights home in Sydney's eastern suburbs, to go for a run on November 13 last year.

Her foot and an ASICS sneaker that matched the one she was wearing during the ASIC raid, were found by campers last Sunday.

It took five days for DNA results from Ms Caddick's foot to come back and it is understood a similar timeframe is expected for the latest remains.
