More fetal remains found in Indiana abortion doctor's vehicle in Dolton

CHICAGO _ Authorities on Wednesday discovered more fetal remains inside a vehicle associated with deceased abortion doctor Ulrich Klopfer.

This discovery in Cook County comes more than a month after authorities found 2,200 medically preserved fetuses in the garage of Klopfer's home in neighboring Will County.

About 10 a.m., detectives with the Will County sheriff's office searched multiple vehicles Klopfer owned in Dolton, according to a Will County sheriff's office news release.

Klopfer had eight vehicles and other personal property stored in an outdoor gated lot of a business in Dolton. In a compartment of one of the vehicles, police found five plastic bags and one box that contained "numerous" medically preserved fetal remains, the release said.

The remains were "preserved, packaged, and marked similarly" to the previous fetal remains discovered at Klopfer's residence, the release said.

Klopfer, who died Sept. 3, performed abortions at Indiana clinics in Gary, Fort Wayne and South Bend.
