More Emmerdale favourites set to return for soap's 50th anniversary celebrations

It looks like we could be seeing more former favourites returning to Emmerdale as part of their 50th anniversary celebrations.

In October, there will be a month of major storylines to mark the Emmerdale milestone. We already know Aaron Dingle, Diane Sugden and Tracy Metcalfe will all make a brief returns.

Producer Kate Brooks said: “Diane, Aaron and Tracey will all be making a reappearance, all-be-it, on a temporary-basis. They will come back and be at the heart of some really big stories which will impact them and the lives of the characters they leave behind.”

Now, Emmerdale boss Jane Hudson has given us an opportunity to wonder if any other of the show's all-time favourites will be making a return. As reported by the Metro, she said: " You’ll just have to wait and see if anyone else is returning."

You can tell us any characters you'd like to see back in Emmerdale for the soap's 50th anniversary by commenting on this article. Elsewhere, the Emmerdale boss teased the prospect of a murderer being set on the village in the coming months.

She said: “There is always potential for a murder in Emmerdale - this is Emmerdale. It is famous for its murders. You know, I’m not going to go into specifics. I’m just going to be vague.

“I know some of you know I often trip up and say things I shouldn’t but I’m surrounded by a press team today so I can’t make a mistake. But, it is Emmerdale, there’s normally a murderer lurking round the corner somewhere.”
