More Dublin v Mayo tickets on sale today - but you'll have to be quick

The GAA have released batch of tickets for the hotly anticipated All-Ireland semi-final between Dublin and Mayo, Dublin Live reports .

Thousands of supporters were left high and dry yesterday after there was massive demand for tickets that the system seemed to freeze.

The coveted places in Croke Park went on sale at 10am and long queues formed instantly.

Fans who managed to get tickets said they had waited hours in line at their local  Supervalu  and  Centras  while the online queues froze and stopped selling tickets around 3pm.

A message on  tickets.ie  then said there were no more left - but today will see more go on sale.

Some tickets are already available on  Ticketmaster  - although this isn't an official GAA ticket outlet.

Speaking to  Off The Ball , GAA Communications Director Alan Milton said an extra allocation will go out this evening - but fans will have to keep a close eye as an exact time hasn't been outlined.

He said: "It was an extremely busy and demanding day for the system. It was probably the greatest demand we've had for a semi-final since Dublin played Mayo in 2015.

"We haven't encountered this type of problem on a regular basis previously, so, there won't be enough tickets to meet the demand.

"We're heading for a sell-out, the first of the season.

"As soon as we know what time they're on sale we'll make it known, and we'd advise members of the public to leave as much time as they can to access the tickets."

Those looking to get their hand on some will have to keep an eye on  tickets.ie  throughout the day.
