More downpours to come - the hour-by-hour forecast until the morning

After parts of Greater Manchester were hit by flash flooding on Tuesday, forecasters warned there would be more downpours to come over the next 24 hours.

It is expected to be a showery night and brighter on Wednesday but with a risk of more deluges, according to the Met Office.

Tonight is expected to be cloudy and showery with some heavy rainfall, particularly in the south and east of Greater Manchester.

Temperatures are expected to fall to 9C overnight.

Wednesday morning is expected to be brighter with sunny spells but still with a chance of showers.

Temperatures could reach 13C with a drier afternoon expected with some light winds.

Met Office meteorologist Emma Salter told the M.E.N: "It's going to be more of the same throughout the rest of the evening although (the downpours) will be fewer and further between."

She described it as 'typical autumn weather but nothing severe'.

Here is the hour-by-hour forecast for this evening going into tomorrow.

8pm: Cloudy with a ten per cent chance of rain and a maximum temperatures of 12C.

9pm: Heavier clouds and an 80 per cent chance of rain, with temperatures at 12C.

10pm: Lighter cloud but still a 40 per cent chance of rain and temperatures at 12C.

11pm: Still cloudy and a 20 per cent chance of rain and temperatures at 12C.

Midnight: Dark clouds and an 80 per cent chance of rain, with temperatures of 12C.

1am: Cloudy with a 50 per cent chance of rain, and temperatures at 12C.

2am: Cloudy with a 50 per cent chance of rain and temparatures at 12C, although it will feel more like 9C.

3am: Cloudy with a 20 per cent chance of rain, and temperatures at 12C, although it will feel colder.

4am: Cloudy with a 50 per cent chance of rain, and a temperature at 11C.

5am: Lighter cloud and a ten per cent chance of rain, and temperatures at 11C.

6am: Lighter cloud with a ten per chance of rain and temperatures at 11C.

7am: Heavier cloud with a ten per cent chance of rain and temperatures at 11C.

8am: Lighter cloud with a ten per cent chance of rain, and temperatures of 11C.

8am: lighter cloud and a ten per cent chance of rain, with temperatures around 11C.
