Aneurin Bevan health board, which covers Newport, Caerphilly, Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent and Monmouthshire, also has more permanent sites for coronavirus testing elsewhere in Gwent.

In Newport , there are walk-through testing sites in Bettws, Pill and Rodney Parade operating daily. There are also drive-through testing sites at Rodney Parade and Tredegar House.

In Blaenau Gwent , there is a drive-though testing site at the former Marine Colliery in Cwm.

In Caerphilly , in addition to the mobile testing units, there is a walk-up testing site at the former Aldi car park in Rhymney.

There are currently no sites run by the health board in Monmouthshire , and people in the area are advised to book a drive-through test in Newport or Cwm.

In Torfaen , in addition to the mobile testing units, there are walk-up testing sites in Pontypool and Cwmbran.

People are advised to book a test, even if their symptoms are "very mild."

These symptoms are:

  • New continuous cough
  • Temperature
  • Loss of taste and/or smell

Tests can be booked over the phone by calling 119 or through the government's website.

Home testing kits can also be booked online.
