More coronavirus deaths confirmed in Nottingham

Eleven more people have died from coronavirus in Nottingham's hospitals.

Nottinghamshire University Hospitals NHS Trust has just released a statement with the recent figures.

The Trust covers both the Queen's Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital.

Dr Keith Girling, medical director at Nottingham University Hospitals, said: "Sadly we can confirm that a further eleven patients have died having tested positive for Covid-19.

"Regrettably that means that 29 patients we were caring for have sadly died.”

"The patients were aged between 64 and 91, and died between March 22 and March 30.

"The families have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time."

As of Tuesday, March 31, Public Health England data shows there are now 100 confirmed cases of the  covid-19  virus in Nottingham, up by just one on Monday.

In Nottinghamshire, there are now 218 cases, up by two from 216 on Monday.
