More coronavirus cases confirmed in Bristol, North Somerset and Bath and North East Somerset

Just one more person has tested positive for coronavirus in Bristol, the latest daily data set has shown.

The city's total number of cases was at 682 as of 9am this morning (May 15), which is one more than the previous day.

North Somerset recorded the largest jump of neighbouring local authority areas, rising from 325 cases to 335.

This is not the biggest increase the area has seen this week, however, as the number rose by 11 between Tuesday and Wednesday.

There are now 226 known cases of COVID-19 in Bath and North East Somerset, which is up slightly from 225.

South Gloucestershire 's figures have stayed constant, with no change from 395.

Across the UK there have been a further 3,560 cases recorded in today's statistics, bringing the total number to 236,711.

This figure only includes lab-confirmed tests and does not account for people with coronavirus symptoms who have not been officially diagnosed.

It covers the 24-hour period up until 9am this morning.

There were 384 more coronavirus-related deaths within that period, so the UK death toll now stands at 33,998.

Separate official figures show that neither of Bristol's hospital trusts recorded any COVID-19 deaths yesterday (May 14).

This figure is yet to be verified, however.

Across the South West there are now 7,227 confirmed cases, up from 7,187 the previous day.

This remains the lowest of all regions, with the North East and East Midlands the only other two to still have four-figure totals.
