More child porn charges laid against Milton, Ont., daycare employee

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — More charges related to child pornography have been laid against a former employee at a daycare centre in Milton, Ont.

Steven Campbell, who is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, was initially arrested on April 25th and charged with possessing and accessing child pornography.

Peel Region police say the new charges against the 37-year-old man include eight counts of sexual assault, eight counts of making child pornography and a further eight counts of sexual interference.

Police say the alleged victims "were all in attendance" at the facility when the alleged incidents took place.

Campbell, of Brampton, Ont., worked as an early childhood education at the Bronte Street School.

The Milton Community Resource Centre, which oversees the facility, said in a notice to parents on Thursday that "the staff person in question has been removed from the premises and will not be returning throughout the duration of the investigation."
