More charges laid over alleged murder of Mt Gambier father

Rex Court, 32, died from severe head injuries sustained in the fight.

Two more men have been charged with murder over the death of Mount Gambier father of three Rex Court.

Mr Court, 32, died from severe head injuries he sustained during a fight on Commercial Street East in Mount Gambier on May 13.

A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be identified, has already been charged in connection with the alleged murder of Mr Court.

The teenager has since been released on bail.

Police said three men walking along Commercial Street East became involved in a verbal argument with a large group of people on the other side of the road about 9:00pm on the evening of the fight.

One man was knocked unconscious during the altercation, a second man punched repeatedly to the head and a third man injured as he tried to break up the brawl.

Following an investigation by SA Police's Major Crime Investigation Branch and Limestone Coast detectives, two men aged 20 and 23 were today charged with murder.

Both men are expected to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court today.
