A burger pop-up planned for this Saturday (June 22) has been postponed.
Former soldier Pete Hobbs, 32, was going to be serving his mouth-watering burgers at The Bridge pub in Sandiacre but has had to delay launching Hobbs Burger Co. to the public while he sources a food truck.
He said: "I’m new to this and it’s all grown legs pretty rapidly, and I’ll just be honest - I’m not massively experienced yet and I made a mistake in the planning stage and it means that using the existing kitchen in the venue isn’t possible. As you all know, I started this from home and I don’t have a full mobile kitchen yet which is the issue.
"I apologise to all of you that have made plans to get down for this. There was an option to change the venue at the last minute but it would mean rushing things through and that’s the last thing I want to do with the food, I want to make sure everything is as perfect as possible.
"Nothing that is worth having comes easy they say. I will find a way."
Meanwhile, The Bridge, in Longmoor Lane, continues to count the cost of the road closure, caused by a van fire damaging the road bridge.
It means customers from Long Eaton and Sawley are unable to access the pub unless they take a lengthy detour.
Manager Natalie Russell said: "Business is much quieter that normal and will be for foreseeable future. Derbyshire County Council is ringing me on a weekly basis with updates. They are decided whether to infill the bridge or demolish it."
