Morbid item Meghan Markle has to pack in her suitcase for Africa Royal Tour

While most of us consider ourselves to be very, very organised if we start our holiday more than a few days before we head off, members of the Royal Family spend months and months planning what to take when they're going away.

A lot of time goes into making sure they look good and appropriate for each official engagement they attend during Royal Tours, and a team of stylists is always on hand to make sure everything is perfect.

But there is one very morbid item all Royals must pack any time they go away, and Meghan Markle will have one in her suitcase for her Royal Tour of Africa with Prince Harry and Archie.

Every member of the Royal Family must take a black outfit with them any time they go overseas - just in case anyone dies when they are away.

And unfortunately there have been occasions over the years when the family have had to use their mourning outfits.

When Diana's father, Lord Spencer, passed away in 1992, the family were on a ski holiday in the Alps.

However they all wore black for the return journey to the UK, having had appropriate outfits packed.

There have been rare occasions, however, when the royals have not been prepared.

When the Queen's father King George VI passed away in 1952, the then Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip were in Kenya.

She was given the devastating news while she was away, and the trip was cut short so she could return to the UK to be with her family and start her work as Monarch.

But as his death was so sudden, the Queen didn't have an appropriate outfit to wear when she returned to London.

So after the landed back in the UK the Queen remained on a plane while a black dress was brought on board for he to change into.

She then quickly changed before stepping off the plane to meet officials and members of the press.
