Moray school firearms threat prompts large police presence

Update: a 19-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.


A LARGE police presence is responding to a firearms threat to three Moray schools, reports The Forres Gazette.

Reports say that Anderson’s Primary School, Applegrove Primary School and Forres Academy were among the targets of the threat issued by email.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 8.20am on Friday, 28 February, 2025, officers were made aware of a malicious email sent to a number of schools in the Nairn, Auldearn, Forres and Inverness area.

"A 19-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
