Morata, Gabriel Barbosa, Pablo Mari - Latest Arsenal transfer rumours ahead of January window

Arsenal will be carefully plotting their transfer strategy with the January window just four weeks away.

Mikel Arteta’s side were amongst the busiest clubs in the summer, spending over £140 million on six signings to strengthen the first team.

The summer game plan has worked well with Arsenal sitting fifth in the Premier League, leaving Arteta’s side with realistic ambitions of securing a top four finish.

However, with the likes of Nicolas Pepe, Thomas Partey and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang set to represent their respective countries at the African Cup of Nations in the new year, the club may be tempted to dip into the January market.

With that being said, football.london brings you all the latest transfer rumours involving the Gunners.

Arsenal are reportedly among a host of clubs interested in signing Spain striker Alvaro Morata.

The 29-year-old returned to former club Juventus on a season’s loan from Atletico Madrid, however he has only scored four goals in 17 appearances so far this season.

Given his poor form in front of goal Juve appear unwilling to pay to £29.8 million asking price to make Morata’s move to Turin permanent, which has alerted the Gunners.

The Spaniard is no stranger to English football having spent three seasons at Chelsea, however he failed to impress during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal could certainly do with more options up front with Aubameyang out of form and Alexandre Lacazette’s contract set to expire in the summer.

Mikel Arteta is rumoured to be interested in strengthening his forward line with Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah both out of contract at the end of the season.
