Three mopeds and a quad bike have been seized by cops in Stockport as part of a crackdown on robbery — as well as ‘a potential firearm’.
Greater Manchester Police’s Stockport division have launched ‘Operation Luster’ — a drive to tackle a recent spate of knifepoint robberies, with 12 incidents of their kind recorded between September 12 and 18.
Thus far, five arrests have been made in the investigation, police say.
Dawn raids this morning (October 14) also recovered a series of vehicles, the force’s Cheadle and Bramhall team said on Facebook.
“We seized three mopeds and a quad bike this morning in Cheadle Heath as part of our dedicated operation to tackle recent knifepoint robberies where mopeds have been used,” the post said.
“The action is part of #OpLuster and follows on from the five arrests made as part of the investigation so far.
“A potential firearm was also recovered during today's dawn raid and officers are committed to carrying out further action to reduce these concerning incidents.”
Police are also urging anyone with information or concerns relating to Operation Luster to get in touch online, if able, or via 101 and quote our operation.
