Mooy and Iwata deal Celtic double injury blow for Hibs clash but fears eased over 3 other stars

Midfielders Aaron Mooy and Tomoki Iwata have been ruled out of Celtic's clash with Hibs on Saturday.

Ange Postecoglou's side welcome the Hibees to Celtic Park hoping to take another step towards the Scottish Premiership title. They sit nine points clear of Rangers and know a Treble is on the cards after eliminating Hearts from the Scottish Cup last weekend to set up a semi-final date with their rivals. It's back to league action this weekend and Celtic face Hearts at 3pm, with Gers in action in Saturday's early kick-off.

They will have to see out their clash with Hibs though without key midfielder Mooy who has been ruled out with an injury. Ange Postecoglou confirmed both he and Tomoki Iwata are out, though moved to ease concerns over Greg Taylor, Cameron Carter Vickers and Carl Starfelt - who are all fit for the Parkhead showdown.

Postecoglou said: "There's a couple who will miss out tomorrow. Aaron Mooy has been a bit sore the last couple of weekends so he probably won't be able to get up for it. Tomoki Iwata got a bit of a back strain in training yesterday and couldn't train today. At a push, both could have played, but with a two-week break, we decided to leave them out tomorrow.

"Daizen Maeda had a small issue but he's fine, Carl Starfelt is fine as well," and he later added that Carter-Vickers and Taylor "will play tomorrow."
